There is strong public and political support for developing renewable/green energy sources to lessen the nation’s dependence on fossil fuel.

The Energy Act of 2005 establishes guidelines and incentives for renewable energy projects. Keeping with this push for these types of products, Sun Electric specializes in turnkey (EPC) construction of wind farm gathering systems (34.5kV) and transmission line (up to 345kV) infrastructure.

The company just completed a new 22-mile 345kV transmission line and 34.5kV gathering system for Mortenson Energy Group (general contractor) and Sweetwater Wind Power LLC (owner). The $10.3 million project involved turnkey construction of the foundations, poles, and transmission lines which was completed in May, 2007.
